DHL Stockholm Calls upon Residents to Deliver Parcels for Cash

Residents of Stockholm can deliver parcels for cash in DHL’s attempt to offer the most convenient delivery solutions to their customers. Customers who cannot make it to a pickup point can add their parcel to the MyWays app, select the time and place where they want to receive the parcel and nominate how much they are willing to pay for the delivery. On the flipside, the service allows fellow civilians to earn some extra money by selecting the parcels they would like to collect and deliver, with many opting to deliver packages along their route to work or other journey they may be on.

The initiative is a great way of creating a win-win for the business and consumers. By crowdsourcing delivery DHL have managed to deliver a sustainable, flexible solution while providing a great incentive for consumers to interact with the brand.

Since the DHL launch in Sweden, US drugstore Walgreens has announced a similar crowd-based delivery service. The retailer has collaborated with Taskrabbit, an online site that allows users to outsource small jobs to people nearby. Walgreens customers across 19 cities can use the app to get store goods delivered to their doorstep.
