FEATURE VIDEO: Key lessons from the Hunter Collective

Left to right: Jane Huxley, Pip Stocks, Lisa Messenger and Pinky McKay

Last week Pip Stocks, our co-founder was invited to the Hunter Collective panel of entrepreneurs to talk about what it is like to run a business and give advice to other business owners.

Pip was joined by Lisa Messenger of Renegade Collective, Jane Huxley of Pandora Music and Pinky McKay, author, lactation specialist and creator of Boobie Bikkies – all amazing business people.

Pip’s talk focussed on the big lessons BrandHook learnt earlier this year that resulted in a review of our business and customer experience.

Here are three lessons from Pip’s talk, which you can watch below:

  1. Crystalise your brand’s story so that when the band-aids fall off (and they will), you can evaluate and move on.
  2. Have a process for your business review and action it yearly. Try and reflect before something makes you stop.
  3. Don’t get hung up on the disappointments. Learn from them, flex and get on with it. Summed up beautifully by Ariana Huffington, Huffington Post.

“We need to accept that we won’t always make the right decisions, that we’ll screw up royally sometimes – understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.”

A big thank you from BrandHook to all the women on the panel, to Christina & Heidi for putting it together and to the audience full of hard working entrepreneurs.

The cold, dark nights compliment the Christmas lights being turned on, it’s entirely appropriate to be thinking about mulled wine and in Continue reading
